Now THAT is a deep cut!! ⚡

The figure slouched in his chair seems like a member of the Tuatha de Danaan (the Celtic Gods of the British Isles).

But he doesn't look like the preexisting Leir (Celtic God of Storm & Sea) or Taranis (Celtic God of Thunder & the Elements).

Hopefully Ayodele didn't decide to redesign Leir too. 😰

The figure with fangs & wild feathers/hair appears to be Tláloc ... God of the Storm of the Tétoeh (the Aztec gods of Mexico).

The figure with four arms appears to be a redesigned Indra ... God of War & Weather of the Daevas (the Hindu gods of India).

The bird-like figure with the beak, wings & talons appears to be a redesigned Lei Gong ... God of Thunder of the Xian (the gods of China) of Ta Lo.

Looks like the continuation of "Thunder War" in @ayodelemurewa.bsky.social's Storm #11 is going to give us the Council of Thunder Gods that has long been promised!

Here's my attempt to identify those pictured in the preview.

First & foremost is Zeus, Skyfather of the Olympian gods of Greece/Rome.

I can definitely see a strong family resemblance between Toranos and Mamaragan!! 😅😭

I always thought the Elder God Toranos from @al-ewing.bsky.social's Immortal Thor was a precursor not only to Thor & Zeus, but to ALL thunder gods, since Gaea is also connected to all pantheons.
What're the odds that the thunder gods from @ayodelemurewa.bsky.social's Storm appear in Immortal Thor?🤔

Love the lore being referenced in Storm #2 by @ayodelemurewa.bsky.social & @lukaswerneck.bsky.social !!

Storm, descended from a long line of priestesses who served the Elder Goddess Oshtur (known as Ma'at to the Egyptians), who was also the mother of Agamotto (Earth's first Sorcerer Supreme)!!

And it was all succinctly summarized in Thor & Hercules: Encyclopedia Mythologica (July 2009)!

Finally, in Assault on New Olympus #1 (Nov 2009), Zeus' wife Hera retold the history of the world from the perspective of the Olympians ... from the emergence of Gaea to the Age of Man!

Then Incredible Hercules #130 (June 2009) went into additional detail about Cronus devouring his children & Zeus returning to rescue his siblings & overthrow his father!

Hulk vs. Hercules: When Titans Collide (April 2008) recapped Gaea's involvement in the transition of power from Ouranos, to Cronus & the Titans, to Zeus & the Gods!

Another month, another great issue of Immortal Thor!

@al-ewing.bsky.social & Jan Bazaldua shed a little more light on the concept of the Wheel of Fate in issue #14 & retcon the concept into Zeus' origin story.

But how does it fit in with previous depictions of the origin of the Olympians?

I love how @al-ewing.bsky.social is giving Mother Night the Mother Earth treatment in Immortal Thor!

Called Nyx (Mother Night) & Gaea (Mother Earth) by the Greeks, they both represent primordial forces that are known by different names to each of Earth's godly pantheons!

And maybe also sisters!

@al-ewing.bsky.social (now with @valepinti.bsky.social ) continues to kill it on Immortal Thor!!

Issue #12 does an *amazing* job dovetailing the Elder God lore established by Gruenwald in Thor Annual #10 with the overall Asgardian mythology!

And Tiwaz/Buri actually bested Atum/Demogorge?!? 🤯
