I hadn’t spent a lot of time with this book until today; I really enjoy it. Establishing a writing practice has been something I’ve worked on this year, and this book is full of lots of thoughtful advice, chapters end with practices and tasks, and there are even playlists!

Took the dogs out today, sat down for about 10 minutes to give them time to stretch their legs and by the time I got up I was almost completely covered in leaves. If folks are looking for me I’ll just be here 👋 🍂

Mae was groomed today, so fluffy. She’s been with us for 5 months and she’s slowly getting accustomed to being in one place. She was used for breeding so when we adopted her she’d barely been groomed and wasn’t fond of people. Things are much improved!

And Thea (cat) is so cozy on this rainy day.

My favorite thing about taking my trombone to a protest is that if/when there are counter protestors sometimes they’re yelling and I’ll ask them to repeat themselves, and then when they begin to speak, I’ll just honk away 🪿🪿🪿🪿

I also got to play with some small bands today, which was great!

We have a house just near us that does a pirate theme each year for Halloween, and usually they add a new decoration each year. The addition this year is this duck — and, I drive by him everyday and say:

(I’m quite certain that’s not their intention, but come on)
