At this point it seems like a serious business risk to adopt new SaaS which doesn’t offer a self hosting option.

In maintaining a few web stack components for axum, I’ve been exposed to some surprising misconceptions about web app architecture.

For example, given HTTP is stateless, you’d think it would be intuitive that primitives like sessions bridge the gap.

Apparently not?

If you have a few extra bucks or can reskeet, I'd super appreciate it. My sister Jess is trying to kick cancer's ass and needs some financial help. $1000/3000.

I’m getting political surveys for 2024. This one appears to be from SF mayor London Breed. Looks bad.

It’s focus grouping dramatically more draconian approaches to criminalizing poverty.

Did your former mayor’s husband give her bison as a birthday present once in the ‘80s and now those bison roam your local park?

No of course not, that would be completely unhinged!

But my former mayor is Dianne Feinstein so enjoy these shots from Golden Gate Park.

Someone on Twitter posted learning (human) languages is useless now.

I think the same can be said of programming languages: it’s not actually useless yet, but it’s conceivable that we’ll see the interface shift from syntax to AI; code becoming a relic.
