Same! Having BL in Stored Procedures almost always caused a lot of troubles. One example I‘ve on my mind is calculating the status of an entity in a SP on retrieval based on the BL, so whenever a new state was added you had to update the SP and the application

To be fair, the post leaves room for speculation and it might only be an advice to consider different approaches and to not only look at your ORM, but the sentence „move data access to where it belongs“ makes it feel this way

Absolutely agreed 💯 it all comes down to „use the right tool, for the right job“, it always depends on the problem you try to solve. In some cases it makes sense to move stuff to the DB and in others it doesn’t. It’s always disturbing when someone has this kind of an absolute opinion

Tbh it is not so much about the contents, even though they were absolutely great. My key take away is that I really enjoy the ecosystem and how much it has changed since I last got in contact with it. So I‘m really pumped to get deeper into it.
