Consider yourself lucky that that the town in Austria now known as “Fugging” changed its name to that 5 years ago. On the other hand the village in Romania halfway between Marginea & Solca is still there for them when they are a bit older. 😃

The EU membership with its freedom of movement was always the best way to stabilise net immigration and maintain staff in care homes NHS etc.

Whoever complained probably wants teachers to be super strict and distant so the students dislike them. You do not fit this stereotype so they complain even though you are a more effective teacher.

Good to know for if I am ever able to visit Japan again. When I am further along the path to recovery I will practice it. I am also looking forward to video no. 2

It is not a lot of fun but another positive has been meeting all the lovely people (doctors, nurses physiotherapists care workers) who have been and are helping me. For now I take my motto from Takakura Ken,

Thank you for yr concern. I had a stroke a few weeks ago which paralysed me down my left side. I am in a special rehab unit now. Have made a lot of progress but still a long way to go. I always look for positives and one from this is I am now very competent at iPhone voice to text 😃

I am currently in hospital and can only use one hand. Being able to use hashi to eat dishes such as Greek salad has proved to be very useful.

When I was working in Tokyo a colleague who had recently transferred from Nagasaki caused much laughter when he was using the subway map & said he would change at “Dai Dai Boku” I am afraid I joined in the laughter and also felt a bit smug that I understood why my colleagues were laughing.
