The point is that Sony is hemorrhaging money on failed live service projects and is “remastering” their back catalog to try and recoup some of it quickly.

One thing that regularly shocks me about the video game industry is hearing how much time and money is wasted because executives are unwilling or unable to make a decision and communicate it clearly.

I don’t go digital on games very often, but I’m considering it for Dynasty Warriors: Origins seeing as Amazon doesn’t seem to be getting my copy to me until next month. I get it for free, but I don’t want to wait.

This is a good thing as Oblivion is pretty rough by today’s standards. It was amazing for its time, though.

Why do video games cost so much to make these days? A recent NYT article pinned bloated budgets on the graphical arms race, but that's only a small part of the equation. The real problem? Rampant mismanagement.

This week's column is a spicy one: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
Why So Many Video Games Cost So Much to Make
Graphical fidelity is only part of the reason that game budgets have swelled to hundreds of millions of dollars

The original Switch was never a viable portable system. It’s a “the TV is occupied, so I’ll sit on the couch and play it in handheld mode” system. Going bigger doesn’t change this, so the answer is no.

They’re finally turning the corner. While hardware is down (it is across the board, not just for Xbox), there’s still plenty of money coming in and first parties are starting to fire on all cylinders. Indiana Jones is a sign of things to come.

Tua’s out. Playoff hopes are most certainly dashed, though they were almost nonexistent anyway.

If it had sold very well, then we would have heard updated sales numbers by now. This just sounds like damage control to me. One look at this game will show anyone that the budget was far, far too big for an exclusive title. It needed to sell a ton to recoup the costs.
