25 semi-structured interviews carried out in just over a month. It’s been a great experience and I’ve met some amazing students who play open world RPGs and seen the passion and enthusiasm they have for gaming.

Now to start coding them…

Today I attended my official induction to Cardiff University as a PhD student. It’s a little surreal seeing my place of employment through the student lens. I wonder whether experiencing it from the other side of the counter will change my practice?

Anyway, it was fab and I feel excited. 🙂

I’m not surprised that existing research around the unintended consequences of playing video games is so negative. Disappointed, but not surprised.

Can’t unintended consequences be happy accidents too?
