The "Xbox Game Pass is/isn't profitable" story that's been floating around this week is very silly. Profitability is a squishy metric that any company can manipulate in all sorts of ways with dark accounting wizardry. The metric that matters most to Microsoft is *growth*, not "profitability"

Wait, hold up —

Are you trying to tell me you DO NOT have to fire thousands of employees and destroy your definitive franchises and shutter studios every three months?

They are also making investments in their development teams to preserve the way they've always made games.

Kind of wild/tragic to consider that this was one of the first Xbox Series games announced back when it was barely a seed of an idea and now it’s likely they have canceled it years later.

Maybe at some point someone needs to point the finger at the way XGS is run from a software point of view.

Microsoft never should have been allowed to acquire Bethesda and Activision-Blizzard-King, it should have been blocked for the clear monopoly making move it was, and anyone with pattern recognition could've seen this coming, because voraciously acquisition always comes with mass layoffs.
