Join our Teach-In/Out "Counter the Production of Migration as Crisis" in Osnabrück next week! This is a response to a call by the new Migration Scholars' Global Solidarity and Resistance Network to take action against the increasing violence and hostility targeting racialised communities.

'Die Vergrenzung Europas', mein Beitrag ist nun in der Le Monde erschienen. Die Ausgabe 'Die Unerwünschten' sieht toll aus, mit Texten von Lea Ypi, Charlotte Wiedemann, Wolfram Lacher, Jérôme Tubiana und vielen anderen.

Let’s go, German pundits, explain to the world why everyone gets it so wrong, how nobody really understands, and how the blatantly obvious is in reality much more complicated!

For 3 years, I was leading the post-doc group ›The Production of Knowledge on Migration‹. By the end of the month, our collective work is coming to an end, at least formally. Inken Bartels, Philipp Schäfer & Laura Stielike will give a final lecture next week - come by! @imisosnabrueck.bsky.social

"One's own deportation as an adventure story" @fr-hessen.bsky.social

Apparently, the EU border agency #Frontex produced this 'cute' poster to explain the process of deportation to children. Monstrous. Abolish @frontex.bsky.social!

Not that it really matters but if anyone wants to read my book on migrant resistance, now that we have clearly entered an era of growing authoritarianism that organises itself around migration, let me know (drop me an email or your email address).

Exhausted but thankful for the last days of critical reflection on migration (studies) in times of authoritarian reconfiguration. What a wonderful group of engaged scholars we got together! This was the 'closing event' of our research group. Thank you, Inken Bartels, Philipp Schäfer, Laura Stielike!

Over the past days, hundreds of people have died at Europe’s borders. Yet, there’s hardly any reporting, no public discussion, let alone outcry. Join our ‘What the Scandalization?’ panel to discuss whether and how we can still scandalise increasingly normalised border violence.
