They say it’s the hope that kills you. Well, after tonight I’ll live a while. No chance of winning the league until we figure out how to get the best from this squad. The talent’s there, the organisation isn’t. Need the right team setup. #LFC

No matter where we are on the pitch we look under pressure. Lack of confidence apparent. But why? Is it uncertainty around the new players #LFC

Shocking. Brilliant goal ruled out by pedantic officials. I mean where’s the common sense? #LFC

Lucky one for Haaland, but that cross should never have gone in. We’ve got to close them down quicker. Could be a long night at this rate. #LFC

Bradley had that under control. Konate had no business going across. Mamardashvili got him out of trouble. #LFC

Not unhappy to be out of the EFL Cup, but let’s be honest there was zero intent to compete tonight. Last year we had game-changers on the bench; tonight it felt like a declaration that we weren’t even going to try. #LFC #EFLCup

Was spared having to watch last night. The highlights were bad enough. Van Dijk has become pompous and conceited in his interviews. Arne needs to grow a pair and drop him.
In the end Van Dijk will lose Arne his job. #LFC

Apart from the win, the assist from Wirtz was positive. He showed more in the second half again. #LFC

Frankfurt were so poor tonight. #LFC

I owe Chiesa an apology. I thought we’d sell him last summer. Used to call him “Smiley”. Did a lot of unproductive running around, but this season he’s been sharper than most up front. Glad to see him on for this half. #LFC

I want it to happen for Wirtz so badly. For himself as much as the team. He seems a genuinely nice guy. Bit better tonight, but he just isn’t visible enough. #LFC

Great finish from Virgil and Konate. In both cases the ball much more central and Frankfurt cannot defend that area. #LFC
October 22, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Brilliant ball from Robertson and Ekitike did what we expect from him. Wish some of the others would live up to expectation. #LFC

Watching that Frankfurt move, we looked way too thin at the back. Defence needs serious strengthening. #LFC
October 22, 2025 at 7:28 PM
What’s annoying is that we got the equalizer and then the defence switches off again. Maguire of all people punishes us. That should not be happening. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 5:39 PM
This team needs time to gel. No rhythm no cohesion. Defense needs serious work before we can think about titles again. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 5:37 PM
This will not be our season. It’s a new team that will take time to get right. Plenty to fix, plenty to build on. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 5:35 PM
Right call taking Isak off. Just wasn’t impacting the game. Frimpong was lively again when he came on. More of that energy was needed. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 5:32 PM
At least Ekitike showed some spark when he came on, direct, hungry, actually having a go. That’s all we wanted to see. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 5:30 PM
The two we’ve relied on most, and screamed for them to stay Salah and Van Dijk, both miles off it tonight. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 5:29 PM
Second half key: tighten distances between lines, get a rhythm going with some pace and trust the quality. United are vulnerable if Liverpool rediscover their rhythm and pace. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 4:31 PM
Isak has had chances and really should be on the scoresheet. His movement’s been clever, but the final touch or decision hasn’t matched the build-up. Ekitike might be a better option today. Slot might not want to wait too long to make that call. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Beyond the officiating, Liverpool look uncertain defensively. The back line’s spacing has been inconsistent, and Van Dijk in particular looks uncomfortable in his role. Actually looking quitE frustrated. #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 4:25 PM
The referee should have stopped play for a clear head injury before United’s goal. That’s a serious miss. But it did not directly influence the sequence of play. It should have been defended better #LFC
October 19, 2025 at 4:23 PM
Some of his substitutions have been baffling (Endo yesterday?), and Wirtz has been dropped. Selling Díaz for £70m and watching him bang in goals for Bayern just makes it worse. #LFC
