Today I finished the coffee I was given by the FastAPI Cloud team at PyCon Italia!
When looking at the bag, I noticed the Axolotl draw you can see in the background, and I took the bag happily! but now when finishing the last beans and brewing it, I started to read all the text and noticed something

Looking at the comparison with last year, you can check some of the highlights in this plot. The most notorious change was stepping aside my contributions to Python Spain after a few years, and how I have been shifting my efforts toward EuroPython, PyLadiesCon, PyConUS and the PSF.

EuroPython took most of my time, because I was in charge of the Program committee, followed by PyLadiesCon from which I was working in the infra of the conference, including the website and the Discord server we added this year and the PSF takes the 3rd place, because I was elected to the board 🐍

Following the tradition I started in 2023, I kept track of all the community contributions, participation, and collaborations of 2024 (monthly distribution in the plot)

Compared to the 531.7 hours I spent during 2023, I spent 650.4 hours in 2024 which is a 22% increase.

Spent the last 4 hours emptying (and addressing) my GitHub notifications, but I got no achievement message or anything 😔 a bit of gamification wouldn't hurt, right? 😄

#PyLadiesCon '24 is over, and it was an amazing conference.
Often you lost the perspective on the amount of work that volunteers are doing for months, only to get more people to have a nice time, learn new things, and for them to join the #Python community.
