one night I had an uber driver who was new to san francisco. he refused to turn down a street the gps told him to bc it went straight downhill and he was legit afraid his car would go end over end. my lighthearted “don’t worry, that almost never happens” did not persuade him.

Early hype gave Skenes a massive boost. Pirates shutting him down probably should’ve disqualified him in the end, but the voters aren’t always paying attention and certainly not staying up late enough to catch games on Pacific time

What I cannot understand is how a guy who didn’t even play the whole season, and only played every 5th day could win an award over a guy who played at just as elite of a level for 156 games. If Merrill had a wildly popular influencer girlfriend, he would’ve won.
