Teacher complained that my cursive writing was "too dark and too large" - I spent the summer practicing from sheer spite and the next year the teacher complained it was too tiny and too light. Every letter was perfect though. I learned to embrace spite as a driving force.

Got in trouble in (iirc) fourth grade for bringing "inappropriate reading material" to school. It was Robert Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. I learned to read before kindergarten and my parents had a large library I was allowed to read anything in it. School wanted me to read dumb kid books
