The ban on DEI is ideological, not evidence-based. There is abundant evidence showing the effectiveness of many programs now branded as DEI and banned, but it was never about the evidence. This should be a reminder: do not over-rely on good evidence to win political battles.

Please remember that President Carter appointed more minorities and women to the bench than all previous presidents combined. He was the first President to embrace the concept of bringing racial diversity to the federal bench. A key aspect of his legacy.
