I can’t believe Jack DeJohnette has passed. From hearing him with Miles Davis and Joe Henderson in his young career to hearing him with John Medeski, and Ravi Coltrane later in his career. It was all those moments made my head spin. It’s been a week since his passing and can’t fully understand it.

Sorry I have not been on in a while. But current listings include old Black Sabbath (RIP OZZY) and a few of these. I will be more active.

I can’t believe that these two geniuses died. It was my dad who got me into the genius of Brian Wilson and a cheap $3 cassette to get into Sly. I never looked back on both. They were amazing and both very game changers in Rock and Roll. Thanks for the flood of memories and influence.

Thanks for the musical memories Sly, your music has meant the world to me. It was your music that kept the bond between my dad and I loving music forever. Thanks for it all.

Many years ago Da Capo press reissued this with a new publication called Marooned. I’m glad after twenty plus years I can revisit this book and truly love all the albums that made this list and fully appreciate the music talked about in this book.

Back when my curiosity got the better of me I read an article in WIRE magazine about British Folk from the 60’s and 70’s. Bill Fay and Davy Graham changed my life. RIP Bill Fay thanks for the cool and interesting music.

Happy 100th birthday to Robert Altman. I’m sure that all your films changed the way I looked at filmmaking.

Farewell Jamie Murr. Thanks for all those odd sounds that made King Crimson so unique in 1973. You made it exciting for me to try to play along to no avail. I could not compete nor did I want to.

Happy 70th to this awesome musician/producer. Thinking of all the great albums you worked on and produced. Personal favorite is the Axiom Funk Compilation. What’s yours? Happy Birthday Bill Laswell.

Thanks for your writing and warped stories. You shaped a lot of my reading on this classic. RIP Tom Robbins.

Somehow this looks more interesting without all the letter for the album title and such. I love it though. Beautiful photograph.

Happy Birthday Voodoo. At 25 you’re still a spring chicken, but with old school cred. Thanks for keeping it present with the huge nod to the past.

New post on my blog. It’s the big giant box from Ian Carr and Nucleus. But this album was the game changer.
