I managed to beat the first stage in maybe 3/4 tries, I think especially at the start you need to get a good set of stuff in your level ups.

Worth sticking with it because the upgrades in the town bit will obviously help you too!

I am looking forward to picking up Yotei at some point soon though since what i've read so far is that it's just more of the same just refined/better in most areas.
