Apologist sleight of hand If this were just the personal opinion of one - albeit very famous - New York Times columnist, it would hardly be worth paying so much attention to it. But this isn't about Ezra Klein, really. This tendency to obscure the radicalization of the Right, to normalize and legitimize rightwing extremism, to accommodate Trumpism, is a pervasive feature of the Trump era - it is one of its core pathologies. Since the mainstream discourse stipulates that extremism must be "fringe" in these United States, anything that has broad support is reflexively sanitized… …as not extremism. This apologist sleight of hand is often deployed to provide cover for extreme forces within the Republican Party: If extremism is not defined by its ideological and political substance, but as "something fringe," then the minute it becomes GOP mainstream, it ceases to be regarded as extremism. And just like that, not only do extremist ideas and policies get automatically legitimized - by definition, the Republican Party, regardless of how substantively extreme, also gets treated as "normal" simply because it ain't fringe, because it's supported by almost half the country.

Natty Wine Austin 1. Learning importers is *way* easier than memorizing labels from all these tiny producers. Importers have relatively consistent tastes and there’s only a few in town who specialize in natural wine 2. Louis/Dressner is one great example in the Austin market for tasty, accessible natural wines. You can find wines they imported all over town (https://www.louisdressner.com/wines). Their logo is on the back of the labels I have this little booty-wine open in the fridge now and it’s not sour at all to my palate: Montcrochet. 3. You do need to commit to $28-40/bottle because natural almost always = small producer 4. That said, Brew & Brew sells our overstock from our natural wine club for $30/bottle with discounts for multiple bottles 5. I would 100% not buy natural wine on sale because there is some very harsh stuff (obv.) and it’s the most likely to be marked down. I do love some discounted Frog’s Leap tho The Violet Crown in Crestview is also a good local importer but will be a bit pricey, but it’s a good spot to taste a variety of natural wines and decide if it’s for you or not

For me, this is the one to watch out for if they keep doing future vintages in cans. By far my favorite JK beer that’s not at collectors’ prices. Since it’s not as coveted as Atrial it might make it out of Texas

As you can see from the photo, we still get a tremendous amount of fruit character and color from the second-use raspberries. This is also the first time we've canned La Vie en Rose. Available at Jester King and a limited number of retailers in Texas and abroad.
