A really interesting analysis of the YouGov MRP poll data on PB this morning, looking at the solidity of seats by stratified projected majority and party.

Vert much worth a look, and perhaps a mention in you week in polls.

Amateur hour at Taunton Town Council. Can't even follow national guidelines. This is on a blind bend. What's Health & Safety?

For FUCK'S sake.

See the similar in Worcester last March that killed Jim Pantall when his trike mobility aid rear wheel hit it.

My obscure photo for the day.

A plaque mentioning the birth of Pentecostalism in the UK in 1907, animated by the then Vicar of Monkwearmouth - the Revd Alexander Boddy,

My @davewalker.bsky.social Venn Diagram of the Day.

"What on earth" and "Are you talking about?"

A great illustration of how miscommunication happens, to reflect upon.

I hear a rumour that Gorgeous George is getting Corbynned.

The new party logo already exists:

Marco Rubio trying to apply Muskovite dogmas to Germany, regardless of circumstances, which DO alter cases.

I wonder how he would react if the German Chancellor noted Rubio's regime's balaclava-wearing unidentified police yanking innocent people off the street and locking them up illegally.

My current view of the contrast between the positions of Canada and UK/Europe in our relations with Trump.

Especially on why they need to be somewhat different.

Canada is next to the USA, and 3000+ miles away from Russia (though note the Arctic). Europe is the other way round.

My weird sign photo for the day.

A cycle route leading straight up an ancient flight of steps into the church yard of St Andrews Church, Skegby.

No. I have no idea what is happening.

AFAIK the Teversal Trail does not even go there. There is one 100m away, but it is the Skegby Trail.

I have been in political blogging since 2007, and my firm view is that everyone in politics needs a very serious side and a very humorous-cynical side.
Especially as my MP is the Leeanderthal Man himself.
April 28, 2025 at 9:06 PM
Cheers. I'm a logo cynic.

I think you are (unlike me) too young to have been been given PTSD by Consignia "vanishing down a plughole" type logos.

Consignia was the rebranding of Royal Mail around 2001. It came with oodles of marketing bollocks.

One for political or marketing Bluesky.

This is the symbol of the SDLP party in Northern Island; I wonder what it means.

To me it looks like an eggwhisk or one of those devices the Cybermen use for removing the top of your skull in one of their processing stations.

Enjoying that one of the hole-digging 'professionally vetted" Reform candidates is called ... Howard Rimmer (Roman Ridge, Doncaster).

He may be head hunted by President Chump for his mushroom farm, to work alongside ... Howard Lutnick (aka: Nutlick).

Is there also an AI cat?

Hmmm. Ed Davey, the unknown stuntman.

But ... that bar chart.

Delightfully concise, pithy exchange from PoliticalBetting.com today:

"It's possible to like Jenrick"

"No it isn't."

BobbyJ is not popular in civilised, thinking political circles. The other BobbyJ probably is, however.

Travel to the USA from Europe.

Mr Trump is certainly having an impact.

(We can expect more Usonian travel to Europe to buy iPhones.

Ooops - no we can't. Mr Trump just cancelled the tariffs on bringing them in from Chyna. That's the China he's going to force to submit with his beautiful tariffs)

The latest attempt by the Daily Telegraph to demonstrate that - for their writers - BOLLOCKS is also a verb.

(TLDR: Lots of abuse with not a shred of evidence to support the claim made.)

Has Mr Chump explained yet why charging 50% tariffs on Canadian steel imported to use in USA made cars, whilst having a tariff exemption for cars made in North America with 75% North American content will close down the CANADIAN car industry?

Just asking ... * innocent face *

For all the sixty something Thatcherite Dad's army characters, who run Reform.

Remember - this is the 50th Anniversary of Mrs Thatcher taking over the Conservative Leadership.

Here she is, campaigning for .. er .. entry to the European Economic Community.

Trump is going full Idi Amin in his ludicrous self-regard.
It never stops.
Welcome to Trump's Golden Calf covered in Fake $100 Bills.

I'm sure I remember a Eulalie in Jeeves.

Aha - trigger word for Blackmailing the Black Shorts.

The problem with Mr Chump is that he would not care, nor would his Trumpvangelicals.

Farage, mind, has Black Shorts - does he have skeletons in the cupboard?
