Charter renewal shouldn’t be accelerated but does offer an opportunity to tackle BBC governance and to make it truly independent of government.

In my view no. The edit was not defensible, but the BBC has been too slow to get on the front foot and get its comms out. That has then turned a mistake into a crisis. But does it need the DG and head of news to go? No

There was no production device to demonstrate the passage of time. In my view it was highly misleading and not defensible.

The programme was shown in the run up to last year’s election, and the opening half hour was focused on contemporary events and views, they then had an archive section on Jan 6. The speech was edited, and the you’d have to be pretty switched on to spot the edit under the cutaway.

No, it ran at about 34 minutes into the programme and was the opening part of the Jan 6th section

You'd think she'd find space in the section on her memories of the BBC and the value for money of the licence fee to mention how much money she's taken to appear on it over the years.

Didn’t hear that, good shout. It’s obviously how they’ve decided to shorthand his political position. I don’t watch the 10 last night but will have a look and see if it’s elsewhere
