Oh it floats my boat. Thinking is hard is all.

It’s the tone one uses while pepper spraying children.

Who is the fixer in this context? Is that how he sees himself? Like the Wolf in Pulp Fiction?

Which is I think why she hated writing a novel and the novel is a LOT. I like it a great deal but/and find it more demanding than one would expect from the clarity of her writing. Just because it requires constant adjustment of assumptions and thinking is hard and it’s long.

And at least partially about language itself and what stories can do if you can convince a reader to conspire with you to break them.

If the cutoff had been 1982, the Secret of NIMH would have been a little close for me.

Like seriously: the document that gives him power prohibits him from running for the office he holds. Schismatic POTUS. Let’s elect our own.

The problem I think is that kings were kings because of money and power which means unregulated capitalist democracy produces kings.

Oh it’s way older than baseball and America and my joke was wrong if you even think about it for a second. I think I meant that when I was a young parent the internet made me feel terrible. It might make it easier to experience it as a parent. But clearly this sport is as old as cities.

Baseball was the perfect radio and newspaper sport. Criticizing moms is a sport built for the internet.

I can’t remember a summer with more shows I wanted to see (with the asterisk of not living 90 minutes from a city city until 2002). MKE has killer options like twice a week.

It’s also just a matter of not counting it. What the hell.

This decision is final is such a reveal.

No it isn’t, you mortal dipshit.

I am so upset by how much I want to steal this joke.

Something I just learned was that almost all of the earliest public domain songs that ended up the stuff my gen learned on recorder in 4th grade was minstrelsy music. What awful shit to put on fourth graders.

Like the Smurfs where one of them “went to the moon.” Brainy? Astrosmurf? One of em.

I didn’t mean it as an asterisk. Just hadn’t thought of it in years and couldn’t stop myself from blurting. They made a very big deal out of how immoral the show was that never really tracked with what the show actually was, even on NBC.

I think I’m a few years older, and a Dakota to the north, but our CBS station didn’t air Letterman when he went to CBS. It was on our Fox affiliate.

It was so weird then.

First, it’s great. Second, it might have killed me at 13. It almost kills me as an adult.
