Last month I had a bit of time to work on a few artist proof sketch cards (the cards I keep from projects that I can draw on & resell). Opted to do Cal Raleigh, Griffey jr, and Ohtani. The Shohei sold and have the other two still available.

Which is it Superstore? Price sign says Canadian but the product itself says American.

So I don’t follow any Canadian Conservatives but their posts sometimes appear in my feed. It’s not unique to just their party, but when I do see their posts it’s consistently complaining about the other party. My question is always “what would you do differently and what have you been doing?”

Picked up this comic, Leonide the Vampyr by Mike Mignola, Rachele Aragno, & Dave Stewart, for $1 and it was so good! Reads like a classic horror poem and has beautiful artwork!

Drew a few backing board sketches that are going to be given away as part of a fellow artist’s Kickstarter campaign that ended a few months ago. Drew a few characters from his comic book and was pretty fun to do!

Last month I was in Paris and visited Musee D’Orsay. They had a special exhibit with French poster art that included original Mucha drawings and posters. I felt the same way -so much detail & life that is only communicated by seeing it with your own eyes.

My walls were decked out in movie posters I’d get from the video store for free, like this one of Grosse Point Blank.

I love the pocket dog, available in Calgary, Alberta. A sausage style dog, often a spulombo Italian or bacon/ cheddar smokie, stuffed into a freshly cored baguette, and with cheese sauce, mustard, and or ketchup drizzled inside the baguette before adding thr smokie.

Drew a couple of sketch cards for fun last night to test out a repeater stamp I bought last month. I brushed some watered down India ink onto the stamp for the background on the Spider-Man drawing and used white acrylic paint for the daredevil card. Pretty cool effect that was easy to create.

A few photos from this past weekend’s Calgary Fan Expo. Picked up the Captain Canuck vs Trump comic, a few comics from local creators, a set of repeater stamps (very unique!), and saw some great cosplay.

great prices today. Went to a local comic sale and as per usual, most of the vendors were asking a lot for their comics except for one vendor way in the back. Regret not buying more comics from him now.
