1) It has created a movement to ban X on sites like reddit or cancel your account. This is spilling over into Meta, too, and will lower the influence these platforms have. 2) It is creating a resistance movement that helps people be a part of something larger. That can be powerful.

I'm generally in support of the point @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social made that this Nazi salute won't penetrate to the level of disengaged people caring, but I think it's important for two other reasons:

Anyway, now that Bluesky is a viable alternative to Twitter, I hope to share more thoughts as I explore game design and game tech around LLMs!

Also most don't know this but my college job in the early 00s was as a sysadmin for a tiny ISP, but I've hardly touched that since. Deploying an Ubuntu AWS instance to run my model is bringing back a lot of fun memories, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how the muscle memory is coming back!

I spent time figuring out what to do next with Lightforge. While Project ORCS is canceled, we're not done yet.

I moved! I now live in a sweet high rise in downtown Raleigh with a gorgeous view and a pretty cool community.

After everything that happened this spring with the company and my personal life, I took the summer off. This included fully disconnecting from social media and a full month abroad in Europe.

This was my first time doing something like that, and a really healing experience.
