My brother in law died in June. Heart attack. Four hours in the hospital and gone. And then the bills came. He’d let his insurance lapse two months prior. Bills were a few thousand here for the cardiologist, another few there for the ER docs, a bit for the radiologist.

Got Covid, flu, RSV, and pneumonia vaccines today. I don’t care if I can’t lift my arms tomorrow, my middle fingers are flying high in RFK, Jr.’s direction.

The only thing that makes me sad about James Dobson’s death is that it didn’t happen 60 years ago.

Pray for the President?! Ok, here’s one.

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray thee Donald’s soul to keep.
And if he dies before I wake,
I pray thee too JD to take.

There is nothing inconsistent being pro-Israel and anti-Netanyahu.

Streaming is great but the only way to watch a movie is in a theater. Laughs are bigger, scares are scarier, emotions more intense. Not because of the screen or the sound system, but because you’re sharing the experience with people. Audiences feel things together on a scale individuals just can’t.

Dear Political Fundraisers,
Slapping the word BREAKING in scare-caps in the subject line of an email or the front of a text is just easily readable as bullshit. We all feel the urgency, we don’t need your false sense of it, your hysterical RIGHT NOW. Anything I get with BREAKING on it gets binned.

Trump would be doing none of these things if he expected the U.S. to ever conduct another free and fair election.

Remember how there was not one real scandal or major fuckup during the Obama administration. Nor the Biden term if you leave aside the election stuff and Hunter. Remember what competence looks like. Compare and contrast.

Corporate media headlines for this treated it like a legitimate executive order changing the rules of voting.

It's not. So The Fucking News didn't headline it that way...

Forget the fact that people in cities or apartments often lack backyards. When you get chickens you do get eggs… but you also tend to get rats. So unless you’ve got a lot of land or hungry cats, may not be the solve she thinks.
Trump’s Sec of Agriculture Brooke Rollins says the solution to high egg prices for Americans is to get some chickens and raise them in your backyard.

No national politician in Europe now has a chance of being elected if they do not clearly state their opposition to Trump. Embrace him, and there is no path to winning a popular vote.

One of the most amazing insights I’ve ever seen on social media.
As a chronically anxious perfectionist, I always feel that I come up short, that I could & should do more & be better. I've always envied my husband who just *does not* do this. Last night, (after 15 years of marriage), he explained his secret: "It's "W.A.R"" he said, "Wins Above Replacement." 🧵
