Lots of psychologists don't take insurance. Sure reimbursement rates are a big reasons, but 3-in-5 also cited administrative issues such as pre-authorization requirements, audits, inability to resolve issues with insurer, etc.

The cost of employer coverage varies a lot across employers. On average low-income families covered by ESI spend upwards of 14% of their income on cost-sharing and premiums when someone is in poor health.

Payments for telehealth evaluation and management claims were similar to those for in-person care across all levels of severity and for both new and established patients with private insurance in 2021, as was the case in 2020.

Nice GAO report comparing employer coverage and the Marketplaces

I know there is a lot of variation within markets but on average it's amazing how similar monthly premium contributions are across markets (after premium tax credits)

Healthcare is expensive and it can eat up a lot of lower-income households' budgets. Before the expanded #ACA subsidies (which are back under discussion) a 1/4 of non-group households spent more than 10% of their income on healthcare

Census Health Inclusive Poverty Measure incorporates insurance into poverty measurement. 2 things jumped out to me from this measure
1) The Marketplaces bring 1.8 million people out of poverty
2) Poverty is even more concentrated in states that didn't expand Medicaid

New from @kff.org

Medicare Advantage has become more commonplace among the declining share of large firms that offer retiree health benefits.

56% of large employers offering retiree health benefits offer coverage through MA, more than double the share in 2017 (26%).

MA enrollees are more likely to say that access to providers is important. Virtually all MA plans include provider networks that limit coverage or require higher cost-sharing for some physicians

CBO is out with estimates of Association Health Plan legislation (also banning facility fees for #telehealth). They estimate 3/4ths of the 600k who would enroll in an #ahp are in the non-group/small group market. Premiums would increase for those left.
