The grounded realism and high visual fidelity of ROUTINE (even on Series S) really helps add to the suspense and creepiness

In our latest D1SC0URS article, we’re looking at the retro futuristic stylings of Routine and how its grounded environments add to the game’s creepy atmosphere

Rolled credits on Metroid Prime 4 on Switch 1. Beautiful visuals and audio. Some puzzles are very obtuse and some boss fights were annoying but overall great game.

Not to overstate my case, but I really do think Nintendo worked miracles with the visuals of Metroid Prime 4 on Switch 1.

I was lucky enough to get Metroid Prime 4 for Christmas and I got the Switch 1 version since I haven’t purchased a Switch 2 yet. Let me tell you just how damn good Prime 4 looks and plays on the old Switch hardware. It has no business looking that good.

My first D1SC0URS article featured the banned Steam game Horses and I just posted a brief clip on TikTok if you’re interested in seeing it in action. Nothing too NSFW.

Banned on Steam, Horses is a provocative new game with themes of puritanical repression and authoritarian submission but did its ban actually help in the end? Our latest article, “Silenced Stable” exa...

My inaugural article for D1SC0URS will feature the banned Steam game Horses. I’m almost finished and I just came across this excellent video from Alanah Pearce that dives into Steam’s problematic ban: youtu.be/G-7r9pL0Hqo?...

So… there’s no believed link between the Captain’s nationality and the accident… yet you specifically call it out in the headline? 🤔 Desperate for views, eh?
The captain of a container ship that struck an oil tanker transporting fuel for the U.S. military on Monday was a Russian citizen, the company that owns that ship said on Wednesday. There was no immediate indication that the captain’s nationality played a role in the crash.
Captain of Ship That Hit North Sea Tanker Is Russian, Company Says
The police in Britain detained the ship’s captain on suspicion of gross negligence after it crashed into an oil tanker that was being operated by the U.S. Navy.

😡 At this point it is unacceptable and unconscionable to hold public events in areas that are not secured from vehicle based attacks like this. It doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways attacks could happen, but this is “low hanging fruit” stuff that should be common sense.

Check out this recreation of the seminal game DOOM in ChatGPT. Clearly a ways to go, but just think how this could further democratize game development in the future. It could allow “normal” people to create any game they can imagine.

Saw the movie AfrAId today on Netflix. (What a fitting holiday movie, right?) Even though the “evil AI” part was ridiculous, I really liked to see the illustrations of the ways AI can help people in the real world. If you can ignore the dumb horror tropes, the rest is pretty cool.

Consider this: if “I could have voted but chose not to” was a presidential candidate, they would have won in a landslide.
A visualization of the razor thin margin of this election.

Of the 244+ million voting-eligible population:

31.5% voted for Trump
30.6% voted for Harris
37.7% did not vote

Popular is not a word that would accurately describe Trump or the MAGA movement.

The United States can’t allow foreign adversaries to use its freedoms against it to further their own agendas and ultimately work towards its downfall. This should be common sense.
The TikTok ban is often seen as a loss for free speech, Alan Z. Rozenshtein writes. But a federal court "rejected the usual framing of national security versus the First Amendment, and instead cast TikTok itself as the First Amendment villain."
What If Free Speech Means Banning TikTok?
A federal court is floating a new framework for thinking about the First Amendment in the age of social media.

More awful news coming out about Character.ai where a chatbot allegedly implied that a child should murder their parents over screen time limits. Sounds like it’s time to pull the plug on this one.

Amazing. Glad to see continued advancement like this. How is Skynet ever supposed to make killer robots and exterminate humanity with slow ass computers? 😁
Google said its quantum computer needed less than five minutes to perform a mathematical calculation that one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers could not complete in 10 septillion years, a length of time that exceeds the age of the known universe.
