The vacation rental house right next to me has been empty all summer except for 2-3 weeks. It was occupied at least 75% of the time last summer. I mean, it’s nice not having new neighbors all the time, but it’s not a good sign.

Yeah, he’d find these pictures horrifying. He was fairly conservative, but believed that rights came with responsibility, these images are antithetical to everything he believed in.

My uncle in central MA was an avid hunter who owned a lot of guns. Never on display. Very strict rules about guns in his house. No toy guns for his kids, no squirt guns that looked like guns. Guns were not toys, toys were not guns. Just a different mentality about it.

Nope. Chop Suey sandwich (pictured in the thread) is a specialty of a place in the Willows called Salem Lowe. They closed not too long ago, but seem to have re-opened.

The entire point of WAR is to show that guys like Belanger helped win games despite their bat. But if you can’t see that having fewer automatic outs changes the nature of pitching I’m not sure what to tell you.

And that was an era where players up the middle couldn’t hit. Every team carried a punchless .240 2B. Pitchers work a lot harder because anyone can hit the ball hard now. That’s just evolution of the game, not because of WAR.

We adopted 14 year-old Baxter 3 weeks ago. He’d been abandoned and bounced around fosters and shelters after his human died. He’s settling in and has been such a good boy.
