Last Saturday evening my wife and I were at a charity art auction at a private residence in Sierra Madre, California. We slipped away to explore the grounds, and happened upon this magnificent creature, whom we observed from a safe distance. A refreshing dip in the fountain after a hot day!

Yesterday after lunch, I walked to the federal building in downtown Los Angeles that has been at the center of the protests. I took this video.
The only National Guard I saw were those few in front of the entrance. No Marine presence. Minimal LAPD. Quiet streets.
