A propos of absolutely nothing - was yoghurt (particularly plain) just not a thing in 70's Britain? I have absolutely no memory of it before being a teenager and now it's sort of taken over as a fridge staple.

I should probably tell you the full story one day about how I was stopped by the police right there by Hammersmith Bridge. It was during the Sydney Olympics, and when I gave my name, standing outside a rowing club, I got an unconvinced: "Pinsent? Like the rower? Very convenient, sir."

Fruit tea is horrendous. Smells like "fruits of the forest", looks pleasingly red as it carefully steeps exactly as directed on the packet. But tastes like it once met a blackberry, but only by chance, in 1995, at a work conference, in Brighton, but it might have been a redcurrant.

Why is my brain organised so that a) I forget a relatively significant task (easily accomplished) for all of yesterday and simultaneously b) it stores away the name of the guy who liked the shaver so much he bought the company. Victor Kiam. WHY?

Self reflection doesn't seem to be coming to the fore with the man.
If you are in favour of bodily autonomy (and I am) I cant see if you agree with the safeguards (and I do) how you would oppose the assisted dying bill.

Guest on @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social LBC claims the assisted dying legislation as written can’t prevent another Harold Shipman because the authorising doctors aren’t recorded on death certificate. I don’t see that logic at all.
