Overall, after a year, I’m really happy with where the lab’s at. It feels like we’ve gone from a blank room (and empty hard drive) to a functioning research ecosystem. Can’t wait to start publishing to share our results with the world, and I’m so thankful to all my amazing lab members!

We found discrete IgA binding levels, consistency in microbial IgA binding across people (columns), & intriguing trends in IgA binding across species (rows). We spent hours staring at this first ever comprehensive genome-resolved view of IgA binding; so much insight and so much to learn! (3/5)

Something unexpected about starting a new lab: the amount of physical labor involved in unboxing and setting up all the equipment! Grateful for my students' enthusiasm and teamwork in getting everything up and running!
