Trump has not necessarily the upper hand. There was no weight put in the balance by the EU precisely. Of course stepping up would result in some damage at short term but that might be beneficial in longer term economically anf politically.

Perhaps, but there was a clear lack of transparency from the EC even to reprensentants of MS during the negociations. As always this was managed behind closed doors by the Von der Leyen cabinet (even if Sevcofic was involved). Ruling the EC like this is politically disastrous for EU citizen.

De ce que j'ai vu depuis des années, la commission et les agences EU travaillent sur le sharepoint de microsoft, sans doute que les serveurs sont européens... Mais à 100% dépendants de Microsoft...

For starlink, Iris2 is coming but let's hope it will not be too late, especially for Ukraine. Major issue is european and national institutions and agencies relying on microsoft and amazon cloud services. Proton suite (swiss) and qwant/shadow(FR) technologies can be options with minor improvements
