my dream was for the team to have a chance to play with their full arsenal of weapons again at some point this season, it looks like they are going to get that chance. Very pleased and hopeful for better things going forward!

That being said, hearing that Colorado and Carolina (two front offices I generally respect for talent evaluation, especially Carolina) claim that they offered Rantanen more money than Dallas does ease my concerns about the player a bit.

my concern (and I swear that this is not something that is influenced by what happened in this game) is that I don't think that Rantanen is a game-breaking talent the way that the top players in the league are. I'm not sure he's the guy I would have blown the bank on.

yeah the Oilers came out to make a statement that they are still the team to beat in the west and the Stars haven't been up to the challenge tonight.
on to Vancouver tomorrow and hopefully the team comes out pissed off and ready to fight.

St. Louis always gives them a really tough time.. they are out battling the Stars in this one for sure.

it's kind of crazy how the Stars have this as well as a young top 10 NHL goaltender and have also drafted a top 3 on the blueline as good as anyone has in the entire NHL and yet somehow they aren't prohibitive cup favorites

I just hope that they don't attempt to rush him back into the playoffs, first consideration has to be his long term well being not a slightly better chance at winning a cup this year.

hopefully poor Mavrik Bourque is no worse for the wear..
I'm not particularly thrilled with the game that either Granlund or Ceci had, but circumstances being what they are I guess they were fine. At the very least they'll soak up the minutes and lighten the load on others.

he really has a tremendous ability to find the net which is going to keep him in the league for a while. Guy is always around it.

I noticed his compete level was really high for the parts of the game I was able to watch tonight.. there's maybe only a couple players on the Stars roster who would have been able to do as well as Stankoven did in that position. Good sign for the future for sure :)

looking back it's still hard to believe the Stars came back from down 3-1 to that team which always seems to have their number.

I would be very happy if the Stars bet long term on Wyatt Johnston, they obviously figure him as part of their future leadership group, no reason to not get him locked in at a good rate for his prime years.

They gotta figure out a role that they can use him in where he can contribute some kind of value to the team.. I don't know what that is or how they accomplish it though :(

I don't know if I consider the Mat Dumba contract an experiment.. experimenting is what the Oilers are doing with Klingberg - a 1 year contract for a player they can ship to the AHL if he doesn't mesh. Dumba is more of a fixture on the Stars roster at this point lol

Always love to see the youngsters get on the board. I hope this will have DeBoer more comfortable giving them a regular shift tonight, they need the minutes from the 4th line on the B2B occassion...

I saw a domain deck swerve into the combo on ladder last night, casting omniscience from hand after accruing enough lands.. I'm not sure if it is good or not but it was an interesting deck building decision in a base with alternate win conditions

well the good news is that the scoreline is still quite flattering to the Stars. Thank god for Casey DeSmith having one of his best performances of the season I guess.

what's the ratio on these reversed goals? I feel like Dallas has had way more goals taken off the board due to offsides than their opponents... although that may be driven by the fact Dallas likes to try to pass their way into the zone more.

Well I guess we can't blame the referees for taking the game off when the Stars are doing the same.
