After having defenseman Jackson Smith taken 14th overall for the first ever first round selection of the Penn State Hockey team, they’re on track to potentially have their first ever No. 1 pick. This might be the most anticipated Penn State athletic year of my lifetime.

Edmonton is fortunate they’re only down 2-0 right now. Skinner after having been pulled in game 3 is getting absolutely no help.

During the month of April I was starting to think Henry Davis was AAAA. It looks like something recently has finally clicked. Tip of the cap to him for finally finding a way.

It’s finally happening. According to NFL Network, Aaron Rodgers has informed the Steelers he’s signing with the team ahead of next week’s minicamp.

Astros are going to Cleveland tomorrow, and from what I can tell, neither side has an ideal corresponding off day to make it up later in the season.
Tonight's game is expected to begin at approximately 10 PM.
Tonight’s game will begin in a delay.

We will share further updates as they develop.

This was a well protected search because I don’t think his name came up at all in any rumors I saw.
Penguins announced Dan Muse as head coach.

At 42 years old, has 20 years of coaching experience with five seasons as an assistant in the NHL with NYR and NSH.

This is another example as to why the pitcher’s win-loss record in the most irrelevant stat in baseball.
Final: Astros 3, Pirates 0

Second time in Skenes’ last four starts that he pitched eight innings, allowed one run on three hits with at least eight strikeouts and took the loss

Three teams have won the Stanley Cup from a no state income tax state since 2020 (TB, FLA, and VGK). However, Dallas hasn’t won a cup since 1999, and Nashville has only been to a Final. Seattle has won only one playoff series. The Panthers just run their organization well.

Fair argument that Rod should be done as Canes head coach today. However, they did win a game in the Eastern Conference Final for the first time since 2006, and he just signed a 5-year contract last year.

Carolina barring the most epic comeback possible will lose their 15th straight Eastern Conference Final game tonight. Rod Brind’Amour was either a player or coach for each of the 15 games.

It’s one thing for the Canes to lose the series, but if they get swept again, Brind’Amour should be looking for a new job. I don’t see how Dundon can justify bringing him back unless they win a game or two this series.

A lot of baseball still left and yes, this was the first series for Don Kelly as manager. But, if this is any indication, there’s a chance that the rest of the Pirates season could be entertaining. Maybe not the best record, but at the very least entertaining.

1-0 pitch in the 8th to Gorski is another example as to why ABS Review is coming to MLB. Pitch called a strike by the umpire when the pitch is clearly in the other batter’s box.

The sooner Endy Rodriguez can return to the lineup, the better it will be for Henry Davis and the Pirates. He needs to get away from the majors for his own development at this point.

Over the course of the season there are moments where you’ll remember that as the moment they showed why they’re champions. If the Stars win the Cup, this third period is theirs. They looked like they were done after falling behind 2-0.

The decision to move on from Mike Sullivan was necessary for the future of the Penguins. Like Dan Bylsma before him, every coach has an end date. Both of them are great coaches and like Dan, Sully reached the end point for his time in Pittsburgh.

There’s still a lot of baseball left in this season. However, the very early returns aren’t good for Cherington and Shelton. Injuries certainly have impacted this, too. But there’s every reason to be concerned about where things are at this point for this team.

The Penguins have clinched the 9th best lottery odds heading into the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery. This gives them a 5% chance of locking up the first round pick. The Rangers settled into the 11 spot, so there could be a decision to make this May. If they slip to 14, Pens get pick.
April 18, 2025 at 1:56 AM
Only 16 teams can end the regular season with a win. That was a great way to end the year for the Penguins. What's also been great about the end of the season is that we are now seeing more and more of the young guys get their first shifts in the NHL. They've held serve so far.

Colin Holderman for the immediate future should solely pitch in blowouts as long as he’s on the Pirates roster. You have to earn the leverage innings and he has failed as badly as Bednar has if not worse.

Also, going to Fort’s note on the double play challenge: they check everything. That counts as challenging one play. This is something that the league has allowed even before the crew chief was mic’d up. It’s not illegal.
March 30, 2025 at 8:23 PM
If what Cherington said is true about him and Shelton being accountable together (and I have no reason to believe that isn’t the case), when the season is over, this will be a series you look back at as to why they are out of work. This is a series you should’ve won at least 3.

If Oneil Cruz is going to run around the bases like he did for the final out of the first, he needs to be benched. If he just runs and worries about what Mike Rabelo is telling him, better chance he scores. He might be able to get a blocking the plate violation drawn on Miami.
