Could the wind or some other natural occurrence have done this? Yes, perhaps. Could this have been done by folks who have taken over the building? Yes. Could this have been done by staffers angered over what is happening inside? Yes, too. Driving around, no other agencies sported ripped flags.

When I was covering the first Gulf War, I saved the western newspapers that would arrive daily to our hotel in Dhahran. Every page that had a photo of woman would be censored with Sharpie. I laughed back then, thinking “that’s a lot of work for one guy and a magic marker. Trump folks, no different.
