If you finish 5th, you could face 11/12 or 21/22. So getting 1st/2nd doesn't guarantee an easier R16 game and you have to weigh the trade offs of how much effort you want from your guys to get a possible advantage in an earlier round

It looks like the difference between first and fifth is like €1m which is not much. The biggest thing is avoiding the extra games

So it doesn't sound like you can actually say one way or the other about his system relative to feyenoord. What it looks like at Liverpool is a coach implementing tactics with players who are not optimized for that system but are good players. Which is why they look so bad for stretches in games

Did you watch enough feyenoord games to feel confident that you know what his system was? It's also a very different league
