Here’s a video of one of the visiting engines (LMS Ivatt 2-6-0 46441), taken at a location north of Bury Bolton Street after I’ve finished my shift.

Overall, it’s been an enjoyable weekend.
This has been my 12th TPTV festival, and I have already booked my tickets for their next festival in St Albans next March; though I will also be attending their ‘Saving Celluloid Day’ in Potters Bar next month.

And last but not least, Glenn Ford acting as his celebrity lookalike, Norman Wisdom.
The resemblance is quite uncanny!
After that, we were to a screening of the 1961 Danziger classic ‘A Taste of Money’; an interesting gem of a film!

Register and subscribe to TPTV Encore and you can watch more!

Cheryl Knight paid tribute to actress Joyce Grenfell in a live act on stage; featuring some songs, monologues and tales associated with Grenfell.
After that was a usual staple of Talking Pictures TV, the ‘Footage Detectives’; featuring a few rare short films and adverts from the last century.

Jimmy Cricket appeared on the stage with his comedic skills; followed by a session with the Goon Show Preservation Society (@goonshow.org), who presented us with a rarely seen episode of the puppet series ‘The Telegoons’; strange but amusing.

Perhaps the highlight of the day was the appearance of three of the Nolan sisters; them being Anne, Denise and Maureen.
They were interviewed about their lives as singers, and they were even prompted to sing a verse from ‘I’m in the Mood for Dancing’.

Spent some time at Skerne Bridge car park in Darlington to spectate the 200th anniversary run by a replica of ‘Locomotion’ over the bridge; soon followed by a walk around Hopetown Darlington; my second visit there since January.

200 years since the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway.
Here is the working replica of ‘Locomotion’ approaching Skerne Bridge in Darlington; a scene reminiscent of that date.
