Matthew Jury, the managing partner of McCue Jury & Partners, told The Telegraph:

“The allegations concerning the use, or misuse, of the Dash risk assessment and its suspected inefficacy are deeply concerning and, if true, may have led to the most serious and unforgivable real-world consequences”

4/5 💬”While we welcome this significant step, the Security Minister is still yet to explain why the UK failed to seek extradition from the United States or the UAE when it had the chance.”💬

5/6 Indeed, if the UK authorities fail to take effective and immediate steps to seek Tate’s extradition to face criminal charges in the UK, this may be the only opportunity to ensure Tate faces justice.

4/6 It was also clear from today’s hearing that Tate’s defence strategy will be to victim-shame, minimise the allegations against him, and delitigimise the evidence and the claimants’ experts from day one.

However, nothing can stop this trial from happening, which is now scheduled for early 2027.

3/6 If successful, it could change the law for the significant benefit of victims of coercive and controlling behaviour — both men and women — leading to better and fairer judicial outcomes.

Meanwhile, UK authorities’ inaction resulted in another woman allegedly being raped and assaulted by Tate in California, while he was travelling freely across the USA.

If the UK had made the request, this may not have happened.

The UK authorities could and should have done more.

2/2 Tate himself is not expected to appear as he faces arrest by the authorities in respect of allegations of rape and human trafficking of further British women should he come to the UK. He will, however be represented by his lawyers.
