Brooklyn native, Roslindale booster, all posts strictly my own opinions. Strongly pro-housing, walk, bike, and transit.
My firm’s recent office move provides me with a clear view of this classic transect violation. Time for that surface parking lot to meet its maker…

Instead of prioritizing and making walking and biking safer by putting in a raised crosswalk or stop signs for drivers, we get this bit of sociopathy support. Who asked for this?

Also - is there street section in Boston where the gap between what it is and what it could and should be is greater than Congress from State to Water? I mean, just appallingly craptastic. Classic 4-land mini stroad ruining several blocks of what should be delightful urban fabric.

Couldn’t take it any longer…

Relatedly, packing up my office for a move down the street and came across this framed tweet from 2019 announcing the imminent launch of @mass.streetsblog.org. One of my prouder moments.

Utterly gorgeous afternoon on Birch Plaza and enjoying the chatter from a string quartet’s members after recording upstairs and the little ones and parents enjoying some time outside without worrying, at all, about getting run over by a MV operator. Thx @wutrain.bsky.social!

I think I know what this means. Again, finally! Thanks @streets.boston.gov!

Can’t overstate how much of an improvement the Boston City Hall Plaza redo has been. It has made us a plaza reborn. An order of magnitude better.

First time to #bostonprideparade and it was impressive. Even the local oldies turn out. Impressive!

One of the upsides to staying in a neighborhood for a while is helping something get off the ground and then watching it as it flourishes and others take up the challenge of making it even better. Thanks especially to #fornaxroslindale! Parklet looks very well cared for!!

I know Kunstler has become a legit problematic person, but this paragraph from the closing of The Geography of Nowhere is brutally on point even 30-plus years on.

First time to San Diego this past weekend. Weather was delightful as advertised. Pleasantly surprised by their Little Italy and very impressed by Balboa Park and La Jolla but the lack of light rail service to the airport and Balboa are definite missed.

Support @wutrain.bsky.social 1000% on standing up for immigrants in this city. A pic from the concurrent rally just now with the sad clutch of counter protestors on the left. Outnumbered by at least an order of magnitude.

Congrats @jarjoh.bsky.social on your tenure @transitmatters.bsky.social. Well deserved Boston City Council recognition!
