I saw the 75 James condos (LiUNA/Fengate/Hi Rise Group) are now listing units in Phase II at the "high 200k's". Out of pure morbid curiosity I checked and wow what a drop.

The newly released report by Gotham Polling and the city AARP found that 44.6% of New Yorkers would vote for Mamdani if Sliwa quit the race, compared to 40.7% saying they’d back Cuomo — with a margin of error of 4 points that puts Cuomo within striking distance.

"What first comes to mind when you think of Neil Lumsden, the local MPP?" I kind of have a fun theory that Neil Lumsden doesn't exist, like he's totally a fictional creation and just nobody's noticed. Because I don't think I've ever actually seen him in person. Like at local festivals he'll rent a tent but he's never - never - actually in the tent. And all I get from him are form emails wishing me Happy Mother's Day or Happy Canada Day. Anybody could write that stuff! I don't know.

He also uses it to proofread and generate ideas. “I use it all the time, and I'm looking for ways to use it more,” he said.

There is a distinctive traditional style of Hamilton folk art - increasingly obscure as time brings change, similar to a regional accent. Many of the masters of this craft may have left us, but it's nice to see flashes of their brilliance from time to time #HamOnt

Councillors Francis, Beattie & Clark issued a joint press release just over a year ago in opposition to the Lake Ave affordable housing project. They claimed to be working on a Made In Stoney Creek plan for affordable housing. A year on, they have essentially made zero progress on this file. #HamOnt
A joint press release dated March 28 2024 from Councillors Matt Francis (W5), Councillor Jeff Beattie (W10) and Brad Clark (W9): Stoney Creek, ON - Yesterday, Mayor Andrea Horwath provided Council members and Acting City Clerk Pilon with notice of her intention to veto the Council's vote regarding the disposition of the Downtown Stoney Creek City-owned parking lots at 5 and 13 Lake Avenue South, and subsequently Veteran's Lane. We, as the shared community of Stoney Creek, are disappointed in this action. We firmly believe that as Stoney Creekers, we have the ability to create our own proactive, locally developed solutions and implement homegrown plans to address the ever-growing need for affordable housing in our community. This has been evident during the preceding weeks of debate, and since the subsequent decision by the Mayor, as members of the Ward 5, 9 & 10 Communities have consistently expressed their desire to be a part of a solution. As a result, our offices have already initiated a process to develop a "Made in Stoney Creek" approach with City Staff and will be bringing solutions and options to our communities in the very near future. It is our collective hope that by collaborating as a team, with the support of Stoney Creekers from all parts of our shared community - including voices from Wards 5, 9 & 10 - we can develop our own plan to meet the challenges at hand and avoid having a plan developed elsewhere being imposed upon us again. Although we are at a very early stage, we pledge to continue to communicate openly and transparently as we move forward.
