Of the two books I read in 2024, these are my top two. The Račiūnaitė-Vyčinienė's book led me to Ambrazevičius' monograph, which details archival pitch tendencies that have only recently been lost with urban folk revivals. I never thought I would abandon 12 tone equal temperament, but here we are

If you love something, set it free. If it returns, it was meant to be played. I was playing a heavy tsymbaly, and I gave it back to the owner earlier this year. Yesterday a lighter one landed back in my life, just in time for Melanka rehearsals
