Corn scientist with muddy boots and a farmer’s tan. Expert on closest available gas station sandwich to any point in the eastern Dakotas and western Minnesota. Opinions are my own.
And, in my world, the answer to "why it's shaped like that" usually has a lot more to do with someone forgetting to flip a switch than anything exciting or profound.

Non-scientists think we go to work and make discoveries that are obvious and exciting, when really mostly trying to figure out iwhy the error left after we thought we accounted for everything is shaped like that.

Crap. How long was I sleeping?

I had the exact same experience a few months ago. It hits very different.

Maybe, just maybe, she is sensing that we are coming to the end of troll politics, and the nasty bombastic rhetoric is generating a backlash, so it's time to elevate the discourse? Even if you dont like her, if she is correct that this is the way the wind is starting to blow, it's very positive.

Moby Dick in my early 20s. I read it every few years when I feel the drizzly November in my soul and need to be reminded about accepting that which is uncontrollable.

Put another way, if you make a dollar a second, you will have over 31 million dollars in a year. And in a mere 15844 years, you can get to 500 billion and catch the rich guys.

Give them some grace. I have spent hours and hours fishing in places where i was neither catching nor expecting to catch fish, and found that there was no place in the world I would rather be.

I noticed recently that all of the songs played at my kids sporting events are 20 to 60 years old. Mostly the same songs that were played at my sporting events.

I wondered about that afyer I replied and couldn't quite remember how that went. It opens up the field to have one of the top teams not there. Not to mention all of the rearrangement that will be getting ready to happen following the Olympic cycle. Will be fun.

Have a happy Thanksgiving!

You will have a team getting ready to leave for the Olympics the next week, potentially. A d Homan as team canada from last year. Could be a really interesting bonspiel.

I like PJ, but I never need to hear that song again. Like, ever.

They can be controlled chemically, but other than being gross, they aren't dangerous if you trim the ear off. I tend to just find another ear without them, though.

That's a corn earworm. Its pretty common in sweetcorn later in the season. Some years are worse than others

The undertones run through his whole catalog. The man is a poet first.
