Just don’t try 4K in steam gaming mode and you’re good (been using it with few issues for a month or so with nvidia)

I don’t, but if it’s just 4 button pins and a ground on both, couldn’t you just figure out the pin out and make a lil cable?

Does this one need to split in the back to hold the iPad? I have an older one of these and it feels really bad having to basically break it every time

“At least he made the trains run on time”: Very false, but Americans too insular to understand Italian satire.

“At least they were incredibly gay with it”: Very true, but Americans too homophobic to understand Italian fascism.

I set up something similar with the imagetools js library for gf’s portfolio. But obv with the caveat that you’re gonna have setup a script n stuff. It’s a pretty simple library though, happy to answer q’s if you get stuck

Since they connect magnetically, the release buttons can be regular ol buttons

I am considering maybe doing native clients for iOS / android. The design is very simple, so it shouldn't be too hard to replicate, but that is a lot of work I'm not ready for.

Alternative is to figure out Tauri for mobile, but that's,, not great

Either way, in case you're wondering, client is a Tauri wrapper on SvelteKit. I don't love doing another shitty, browser-based app, but I am just one person, and most of my experience has been in web so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Still, trying the best I can to keep memory footprint low.

Oh also, here a little interaction I like with the jog-slider control.

Currently, I got most of the big stuff working. Federation, streaming, importing music. But still gotta tackle personal user libraries and some basic admin features, (and any form of documentation)
November 18, 2024 at 4:47 AM
Then you have a client that can maintain a local library that points to songs on all the various servers you have access to. (This is the big todo at the moment).
November 18, 2024 at 4:47 AM
It's a federated system, where you have your account on one "identity" server and then can get access to any number of "provider" servers that actually stream the music to you. The idea being that you and your friends can all just host servers and share access to your collections.

I've been noodling around with a self-hosted music streaming service for a while now and gonna open source it soon.
