Forty percent of the 566 Local Government Areas have no dentists, although only 3% of the population live in these regions. But in major cities there are 70 FTE dentists per 100,00 people, dropping to 46 in inner regional areas where 18% live, and even lower in outer regional and remote areas.

regardless of their background, income or where they live, can access timely dental care when they need it. Momentum is building and there is a groundswell of public support for change. We must not waste it.’
