The Trevi Fountain in Rome.

The Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome. Another ancient structure featured prominently in the Assassin’s Creed Ezio games.

The Pons Aelius bridge that leads to the Castel Sant'Angelo.

I leave Italy tomorrow so here’s the remainder of my pictures.

A view of the skyline of Florence.

The view of Venice from where I was staying while there.

The “Kissing Towers” of Bologna. Ancient structures that look like they’re leaning in to make out when viewing them at this angle.

When it’s clear, you can even have a view of the Alps from northern Venice.

Then there’s the Bridge of Sighs. Connecting the Doge’s Palace to the prison right next to it. Prisoners would stand in it to gaze out at Venice one last time before being put away.

This song depicts the agony of what that experience must’ve been.

Our next stop was Venice. Or as the locals call it, Venezia.

These are different angles of Piazza San Marco, the town square.

Then there’s a view of the canal from the square.

Our next stop was Florence aka Firenze, the hometown of Ezio Auditore. The Duomo, or Cathedral of the city is a magnificent architecture with a big dome in the back.

There’s also the Palazzo Vecchio and the Basilica of Santa Croce. Both featured in Assassin’s Creed II as well.

Speaking of which, we also passed by the commune of Monteriggioni, the headquarters of the assassins in Assassin’s Creed II and home of the Auditore villa.

San Gimignano. A town in Tuscany famous for its medieval towers. If anyone’s played Assassin’s Creed, specifically the Ezio games, you know these are the kind of towers you climb all the time.

The Italian region of Tuscany:

Next to the Apennine Mountains that have a lot of marble that look like snow from a distance.

Some towns have impressive walls built during times of war.

Its coastal towns inspired the setting of the Pixar film Luca.

There’s also a tower that looks a bit strange.

Other landmarks I saw besides the Colosseum:

St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City.

The Circus Maximus, a stadium where they raced chariots back in the day.

The Forum of Augustus, part of the ruins of the Roman Forum.

The Pantheon, largest of the preserved ancient Roman temples.

The balcony on the lower level of the Colosseum is part of the ground where the gladiators fought. It overlooks the underground structure known as the hypogeum where they hid animals and performers and had them emerge on the ground floor.

Clearly, can’t go to Rome without going to the biggest amphitheater of the ancient world.

Be sure to include this in part 2. Anyone who says Vivziepop shows have “forced” LGBTQ rep have clearly never heard of this.
