i will fully also admit to being a p risk averse person! i just hate the kind of affective environment that is made up of more and more other highly risk averse people - it's even harder for a person to be open and spontaneous when everyone else is closed / fearful / anxious by default

i do think that his causal explanation (helicopter parenting / "our toxic culture") being to blame for this is stupid / would be much better with a left/more structural analysis, but this is a genuinely interesting phenomenon
