Five Years Ago Today: Great Moments in Televised Debate History.

If you don't know who this is (the person not the fly), here's a hint: Three months after this debate, Trump tried to have him (his own VP) killed.

The GOP in TX, a very GOP-controlled state despite having more registered Dems than GOP, wants to gerrymander more GOP control. They can do this since the GOP-controlled SC ruled that gerrymandering is legal if those doing it don't admit they are racist & instead are doing it to subvert democracy.

Glad to see some media coverage of the massive AOC-Bernie "Stop the Oligopoly" rallies, and of the anti-Trump protests, too. This is a nation-wide social movement, so more news about this, please.

I know there's been a lot of deserved criticism of WaPo the last couple of months, but I appreciated this series of items in my news summary email from them this morning.

Yeesh, the FCC website is already looking both shabby (what's with the scrunched letters and seal?) AND partisan: "costly regulatory overreach" to describe a proposed policy (that Trump Admin eliminated) that was designed to offer more flexibility to renters in their ISP choices.

Great review and example of media-studies scholarship! Results from an Image Google Search of Toshi Seeger includes this result from the Washington Post obit, so the erasure continues.
