I used to love James, but his contempt for the left and his dedication to the failing neoliberal world order has made him clueless and wrong half the time.

Simon is the best. I used to love James, but his contempt for the left and his dedication to the failing neoliberal world order has made him not only insufferable, but just clueless and wrong half the time.

This is why nothing will sadly change after the release of the Epstein files. We now all assume that our political leaders are corrupt demons. "It's Breaking: Water Wet."

People aren't explosively interesting in the Mendelsohn story simply because a) he and his job aren't that interesting or well-known, and b) by now, everybody already assumes that our political leaders are corrupt and that a pedophilic elite are strangling the world -- it's "Breaking: Water Wet."

The lyrics definitely sound like you made it in two days.

The fact that you can say this while also humoring a Trump invasion and regime change in Iran displays a disappointing level of cognitive dissonance.

James, your Western chauvinism's showing. I used to love your show, but you're really stuck in this neoliberal thinking and all the "China = bad" brainwashing. This past month, he's repeatedly centered shows around why imperialism and regime change (in Venezuela and in Iran) are positive things. Ugh

China has obvious flaws, but what it lacks in libertarian freedoms it more than makes up for in material circumstances. James will run episodes on how awful social media is and what the internet has done to our brains, but critiques China when it moderates its internet for the health of its people.

In America, I get to call Trump a f*ckwit, but go bankrupt if I get cancer. I'd rather be unable to criticize the president and have affordable health care and brilliant public transportation. Plus, America is already cracking down on what you can post online and say about Trump (and Israel).

just glad people are finally talking about ice on ice violence
January 12, 2026 at 5:23 AM
Watch out for that first step, it's a doo-hoozy
January 12, 2026 at 5:22 AM
People never talk about ice on ICE violence

The Trump-Zelensky issue seems simple -- they knew they couldn't get a peace deal, so they wanted to paint Zelensky as the one responsible for the disintegration of peace talks. Instead of admitting that Russia wouldn't bend to the U.S., they make Zelensky look like the uncooperative spoiler.

Well deserved! I loved the copies of The Outcasts and The Savage Hunt of King Sakh (with the special coin!) that I purchased.

A very rare O'Brien fail with this Wes mess. Since when do we award Labor for fighting against strikes and better working conditions? He called agreements in 2024 "first steps" and now scaremongers when they try to take a second step. Wes should work on fixing the NHS and not critiquing doctors.

Very underrated film with an intelligence that was obfuscated by the massive shadow of Godard's original. Incredible release. Are there any copies of 'New Rose Hotel' available at all? This sold out so fast and I'm a huge fan. Either way, great job with the releases!

I just received the copy I ordered and can't wait to read this!
