I have just voted for the recommended slate, and encourage others to do so as well.
🌳 As a #NationalTrust member I’ve just voted for the recommended slate to keep out the bogus, right-wing entryists of “Restore Trust”. Anything this creep wants is bad for Britain and bad for our heritage.
🌳 If you’re a member, vote Recommended Slate now: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/who-we-are/a...
One vital reason to vote in the National Trust elections and for the NT endorsed candidates. We can't risk the Restore Trust candidates getting any influence on it.

I visited last week. It's an amazing achievement. Congratulations to all involved.

RIP John Barrett. I never came away from one of his talks without being forced to think deeply and in new ways about archaeology. His was a really profound and uncompromising intellect. And he practiced and insisted on values of decency and responsibility in our work.
I've just heard the sad news that John Barrett has died. #Archaeology has lost a lot of folks this year. 😔

Saddened to hear of the death of Mark Leone. He was a giant figure in historical archaeology; his work set an intellectual horizon for the field. I can't think of anyone who thought more deeply and profoundly about the archaeology of capitalism. He was also a kind and generous mentor to me.

So very sad to hear this. Colin was a thinker and leader of the very first importance. I have so many fond memories, it is difficult to know where to start. He was very kind to me personally, and was a great leader of Archaeology at Cambridge when I was a student in the 1980s.
Colin Renfrew has passed away. A hugely influential figure in archaeology throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries.
Here are a few photos of him from about 15years ago, when I was working on his Keros Project.

I voted early today, for Harris/Walz. Many reasons, one of which is that I would like my President to be someone who does not mock people with disabilities.

I was really shocked and saddened to read this. In addition to being a great prehistorian, Tim was a thoughtful and pragmatic leader of academic and professional archaeology. This is a terrible loss. cotswoldarchaeology.co.uk/tim-darvill-...
Tim Darvill: 22 December 1957 - 5 October 2024
We are very sad to announce the death of our Chairman Tim Darvill, aged 66. A founder of Cotswold Archaeology in 1989 and Chair since 1992

I've voted in the National Trust's annual elections, and encourage fellow members to do so as well.
Voting has opened for the National Trust's annual elections & members' resolutions. Deadline is 11:59 pm on Friday 25 October. As in past years, so-called 'Restore Trust' is running candidates, identified in the banner on their website. Quick-vote is a quick way to vote against RT, if so minded.
