Tried phone, laptop, 4G, broadband, nothing worked. A waste of time.

Same here. Not using a VPN, only using one browser. Have tried for a different day and same thing happening. So frustrating.

Christian Eriksen? Experienced no. 10, takes excellent free kicks and corners, and what's the point of buying all those giants if we don't have a set-piece specialist to deliver the ball to them?

I wish this piece had swapped 'mum' and 'mother' for 'parent' – but maybe she's right, maybe most dads "get to go off and do their work, and attend their conferences, without worrying about it". Equal leave would help reinforce that parenting should be equal www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
School’s nearly out for summer and there’s one word on every mother’s lips – help! | Rhiannon Picton-James
All the options for childcare are either too short, too expensive or just rubbish. No wonder the birthrate is falling, says writer Rhiannon Picton-James

I "won" a load of Outbreak Festival tickets in case you'd like one…

Black Country, New Road's first single was called 'Athen's, France', but it became 'Athens, France' on their debut album. I'd been hoping it was about a person called Athen and not an error.

"Just say yes!" said the man accused by at least 25 women of kissing and groping without consent

Hope you don't mind me pointing this out, but it's seminal proto-punk band Rocket From The Tombs, not Rocket from the Crypt

Nice! We need one more point to be certain but should be a party at the Hive on Saturday. The Championship has been good for a London LUFC fan – was easy getting (home fan) tickets for Millwall, Watford, QPR. Getting PL tickets so hard.

The Wikipedia entry on narcissistic personality disorder explains his modus operandi more succinctly than any political commentator can.

My assumption, until yesterday, was not that Americans were lazy or on board, but that they were complacent in an "it can't happen here" way (when it is, in fact, happening). So encouraging to see photos of these protests.

I guess there's a thin line between being an uncompromising, unpredictable artist and disrespecting your audience. I haven't been so disappointed by a gig in a long time.

They did a proper set last night?!? Glad you got to see it, but it was a bit galling to wait 20 years to see them and then only have tickets for the possibly less joyous Thursday night set
April 5, 2025 at 8:39 AM
Came here to ask the same thing. As much as I admire Tori Kudo’s punk approach, I can't pretend it wasn't a bit of a kick in the nuts to wait 15 years for a concert and then get told, after about 20 minutes of piano and poetry, that the band will play at the sold out show you don't have a ticket for

Realise this isn't the point you're making, but he's probably wrong on all counts. The last Trump presidency ended in extreme ignominy – January 6th, election denial, etc – and almost all the people cheerleading him went quiet for a few weeks and then started cheerleading him again

Is there anything in the constitution to stop him running as Vance's VP only for Vance to resign on day one so he can take over?
A Medvedev–Putin tandemocracy-style deal would be easier but he's too narcissistic to pretend he's not in charge. One thing for sure – he won't willingly relinquish power

I wrote a long piece about Lutfur Rahman for @dgquarterly.bsky.social after he won the election. Story is similar - Rahman both victim and villain, sinned against and sinning; his successes undermined by paranoia and patronage www.slow-journalism.com/long-reads/t...
The unlikely return of Lutfur Rahman
In the end it wasn’t even close. On 6th May, Lutfur Rahman was elected mayor of Tower Hamlets after winning more first-preference votes than his Lab
