Am I hallucinating? I’m pretty sure Schumer specifically defended his CR vote in March by arguing this was the fight worth having

Right I think the first step is building momentum to replace Schumer, Fetterman, etc, which is why I’m not terribly forgiving of how they have handled the last 10 months

No - once again, the point is that Republicans suffered no harm to anything that they care about, largely because DHS was insulated by previous legislation

We’re not getting anywhere. For me the takeaway is exactly what Angus King said - “It doesn’t work to stand up to Donald Trump”. We’ll see what happens next year.

March was when we raised the debt ceiling so we could then pay to build the gulags and hire the masked thugs. People were right to be apoplectic

Airlines are 1) a major part of the economy 2) something the middle class would notice. So yes, airlines losing money hurts the GOP in some way they might feel compelled to react to

If having SNAP protected allows us to come back on the next CR and maybe get a concession, great! If not, then I guess it’s just wait until November.

For example, make airlines cancel flights, cost airlines money. That’s an opportunity to actually inflict pain back.

We apparently were not willing to see the fight to the point where it had a real measurable impact on the economy (cancelled flights for example).
