A while back I decided to read all the Marvel comics in order.

I only have a handful left to finish out 1982, but according to my comic tracker, I’ve now read over 4,000 marvel comics. Absolutely wild.

X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills (1982)

This graphic novel fucking RIPS. It’s what X2 is based off of and reading through it felt very real and, unfortunately, very familiar to today’s current political climate.

A truly timeless story that I think everyone should read. 10/10

Wolverine 1-4 (‘82)

This is largely what the movie “The Wolverine” was based off of, which was cool to see. It ends with a wedding tease that I KNOW isn’t permanent, so I’m interested to see what exactly happens there.

Otherwise, Wolverine starts to show his “Logan” side here.

Netflix removed the Henry Cavill Geralt of Rivia icon. 😢

Ghost Rider vol 2 1-81 (‘73-‘83)

This series was a bit aimless for most of the run. I enjoyed the more stable bits when he was a Hollywood stuntman or when he worked at Quentin Carnival, but the rest of the series was a bit of a slog.

Spider-Woman 1-50 (‘78-‘83)

The early issues were a bit all over the place, but once she moves to SF, the writers finally figure out what to do with the character.

Jessica Drew is a truly fascinating character, but the end of this series was an absolutely INSANE choice.

All announced Disney/Paramount movies between now and the end of 2026.

Do with it what you will, but I will be boycotting them all unless something changes.

Vision and the Scarlet Witch vol 1 1-4 (‘82)

If you like the characters, you’ll have fun with this one. From some brotherly drama to the pseudo-reveal of Wanda/Pietro’s dad, this was a classic run.

Hercules (vol 1-‘82) 1-4

Apparently takes place hundreds of years into the future, so pretty stand-alone. But fans of the character will get what they want here.

How it feels that “No, you’re wrong” doesn’t apply to me.

This is also hilarious.

Genuinely shocked that Nintendo didn’t sue the hell out of the creators of this.

EVEN MORE shocked that they’re letting it be sold on their own eShop.

Man-Thing vol 2 1-11 (‘79-‘81)

This series seemed to have a bit of an unclear end goal in mind, so I’m not surprised it was cancelled so quickly.

That said, I love Man-Thing, and the meta way that they cancelled it was kinda dumb, but in a fun way.

Monday was tough but THIS is why OKC is historic this year.

Playing like a team possessed tonight.

Obviously you won’t, but the shirts are pretty dope though. (Also, I never know what to do with my hands in pictures)

Savage She-Hulk 1-25 (‘80-‘82)

While this wasn’t necessarily my favorite series, it did what a lot of series fail to do: be a complete story.

From 1-25 this story knew what it wanted to say, and it said it. It’s a good read for classic comic fans.
